Violence Against Girls is Preventable
Millions of girls across the world experience devasting forms of violence before their 16th birthday. We know it doesn't have to be that way
To end a cycle of violence is to free a girl to be safe and healthy — to let her flourish and become who she wants to be, on her own terms
~ Desmond Tutu
We are a girl-led and girl-centered community-based organisation in Kenya working to end violence against girls. Through activating girls' agency, voice and choices we drive action to break cycles of violence and ensure prevention, response and justice.
OUR AUDACIOUS VISION
We envision a world where there is no violence against girls
Where every girl born can live safe and healthy, flourish and become who she wants to be, on her own terms. By 2030 we aim to prevent 15,000 additional cases of Female Genital Mutilation and Child Marriage. By 2028 provide 1,000,000 menstrual care essentials to 20,000 adolescent girls annually in rural and cross-border communities in Kenya.
OUR MISSION
Msichana Empowerment Kuria is a girl-centred organisation. We work with marginalized girls living in rural and cross-border communities in Kenya to end violence against girls.
